Pumpkin Bread

Pumpkin Bread

My house has been decorated for Fall since August 15th and with Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte out, I was itching to bake something “pumpkin”. My mom got me this pumpkin bread loaf pan from Willams-Sonoma last year and I love it! This bread came out with a little crispiness on the outside and so moist on the inside. It’s a perfect as a desert or with your morning coffee.

15 oz. pumpkin puree
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup applesauce
2/3 cup water
3 cups white sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
or 1 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice to replace above spices
Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour three bread loaf pans. In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except flour and baking soda. Mix until well blended. In a medium bowl, mix flour and baking soda together. Mix in flour mixture into pumpkin mixture one cup at a time. Mix until well blended. Pour mixture into prepared pans. Place in oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. Check to see if loaves are done by inserting a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean. Place on a wire rack to cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
