Baby Pumpkins!

Baby PumpkinI planted pumpkin seeds for the first time ever this past June and a couple days ago the first pumpkin came up! I was nervous at first that we wouldn’t get anything because our backyard is all grass and the left side of it has rocks all along it so I didn’t think if we used a huge planter box it would grow anything. Then I talked to my mother-in-laws boyfriend, who has the best green thumb next to my mom, and he said if we used one of our half wine barrels, it will grow. And it did! Since first planting, it has been growing like crazy and has been getting so many blooms, but I finally got my pumpkin and I can’t wait to see more come up. :) I mainly planted seeds for my son so he can pick which ever pumpkin he wants for Halloween, the rest I will using for baking and also for decorating for my pumpkin themed baby shower in October and of course Halloween. So what do you have growing in your garden?? :)

Here’s some recipes that will be comping up in the next couple of months that I will be making with the pumpkins: Pumpkins!
– Homemade Pumpkin Puree
– Pumpkin Spice Latte
– Pumpkin Roll
– Pumpkin Cheesecake
– And more!

My apple tree is also filling with apples, but I will be making a lot of goodies with those too. Here is one recipe that I am very excited to make with them… My version of Mrs. Prindables candy coated apples! :)

Let me know if you have any recipes for the Fall that you would like to me try or do a review on and I will put it on my list. I haven’t forgotten my Gooseberry Patch review that I was planning on doing back in the Spring, that will be coming up in the next week or two, so be sure to look out for that!

Autumn is almost here!

Autumn is almost here!

This is the time of year I start getting excited about the Fall! I usually start baking 24/7 with old and new recipes specifically dedicated to the season. So hopefully in the coming weeks you’ll be seeing more activity on here. And as to why you haven’t seen any in months is because of a number of things… First was our moving to a new county, second I had really bad morning sickness in my first trimester and really couldn’t stand the sight and smell of some foods, third was the site editing was kinda broken, things just weren’t looking the way I wanted it to even though I did the correct code, and last is because I have had no oven for the last 3 months. I’ve been battling with a local appliance store up here. They don’t like to call customers back, it’s always me calling, and every time they come out here with a new oven it’s either too big or too small to fit in my island. ARGH! So hopefully by the end of next week I’ll have a new oven! (please keep your fingers crossed!!) Thank God it’s not the Holidays yet! :)
